I find it interesting that many of us talk a lot about wanting to be healthier but when it comes time to take action, we hesitate. We may not show up at the class or workout we had planned to attend. We like the idea of learning more about wellness, but the act of doing it is interrupting our busy lives. Do you sometimes feel this way? When I was asked to take a look at the upcoming Everyday Health & Wellness Conference going on March 1, 2014 in Fairfax, VA, I was excited to see what was on the agenda but I did wonder – will people step up and attend? Will we commit to actually taking a big step towards our health this year? I hope so, because the speakers lined up to share with us at this conference are pretty awesome!
If you’ve never attended a conference before, they can be amazing days. If you habitually attend conferences that are required by your job, then I’m betting you don’t see the huge benefits that would be included in an “amazing day.” But, if you have attended a conference before that was in line with your passions and interests, and was your choice to attend, you know what I mean. This day will be filled with great speakers, the people attending the conference will be some of the most interesting you’ve met in a while, and you will all be on the same page with your interests and goals. The conversations and synergies that can happen — even just standing in line! — are just fascinating.
Everyday Health and Wellness will include an impressive list of nationally recognized speakers, food demonstrations, and health-related exhibitors. The goal of the day is to help us know how to be healthy, fit and happy and to then actually go forth and be healthy, fit and happy! This is a goal with which I can get on board.
